OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH MANAGEMENTE SYSTEM

Through Decree 1072 of May 26, 2015, the Ministry of Labor established in its general provisions for the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSH-ST)[1], in public and private Colombian companies that they have from a worker under any modality of contracting.

The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSH-ST) consists in the development of a logical and phased process based on continuous improvement, including policy, organization, planning, implementation, evaluation, audit and improvement actions with the aim of anticipating, recognizing, evaluating and controlling the risks that may affect safety and health at work. (Article 2.2.4.6.4, Decree 1072 of 2015)

Failure to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSH-ST) can result in penalties of up to 500 SMLV or the closure of the facility.

Decree 171 of February 1, 2016 established as a deadline January 31, 2017 for all companies regardless of the number of employees.
